Gas mixing for fermenters

Biotechnology works with microorganisms such as bacteria, yeast fungi or other fungi, thus allowing the process to run under normal pressure and temperature conditions and in aqueous environments.

This is a crucial difference with respect to chemistry where the production processes run subject to high pressures and temperatures and are thus very energy-intensive and frequently include the use of acids or solvents.
However, since the metabolic rates of microorganisms are relatively low, it is necessary to create an environment for them that allows the metabolic process to run optimally. These conditions, some of which are very specific, are created in bioreactors (fermenters), which can be operated intermittently or continuously.
